COMMUNITY PROJECT
Before he was the Original Nightstalker, East Area Rapist, or Golden State Killer, he was known as the Visalia Ransacker. Nearly 50 years ago, the Ransacker terrorized and burglarized over 100 homes in the city of Visalia, California before he committed his first murder and fled the city. He disappeared and successfully evaded police until his arrest in 2018. After his life in prison sentencing in 2020, the Office of the District Attorney wanted the community to share their story of this significant time in Tulare County history. Inspired by the Sacramento County District Attorney.

We reached our audience through a variety of channels including: social media, radio, podcasts, press, and our website.

The main point for submissions is hosted on our website (tulareda.org/ransacker). Here, our community can get the basic information about the project and submit their story, which will remain anonymous.

VISUAL COMMUNICATIONS
In addition to online digital communications, I also created short videos for our lobbies to display on our digital signs. Equipped with BrightSign media players, we currently have three digital signs that I can control and update remotely. The digital signs are a great way to engage our community that visit our multiple public-facing locations. Our digital signs have been very successful and we plan to add more throughout our locations.
